The puss formed around the left lung, making the patient feel breathlessness and pain in the chest, necessitated decortication.”

“Post decortication, the patient was treated using antiviral for Covid-19, and anti-bacterial drugs for the puss. Subsequently, the patient developed antibodies for coronavirus; and once the infected lung got restored to its normalcy, the patient was discharged to lead his regular daily routine. Culture study on the puss was also performed to assess the nature of bacteria, which turned out to be a regular form of Staphylococcus bacteria,” added Dr. Pramod.
