In an Interview with GPN Rubik’s  Cube Artist Omkar Kibe unfolds his art.

The Idea behind Dagdusheth Ganpati Mosaic Art:
Omkar is very fond of Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati in Pune since the time he attended the Annual Music Festival organised by the Dagdusheth Trust, when he was still in his school days and listened to his most favourite classical singer Pt. Bhimsen Joshi.
He decided to create Mosaic of Dagdusheth Ganpati at his residence in Borivali, Mumbai on the occasion of this Ganesha Festival and created this beautiful 6 x 8 ft. mosaic art with 1280 Cubes. It took him about a week to work on the digital design and around 5 days to build this mosaic with Rubik’s Cubes.
About Rubik’s Cube Mosaic Art and its benefits:
It’s a new form of art that challenges in many ways, as the Creator must know how to solve a Rubik’s Cube first of all and sense of art. There are many benefits of solving a Rubik’s Cube such as increase in eye-hand coordination, quick decision making, sharpen memory and concentration, spatial thinking, problem solving and analytical skills, patience and perseverance. Now, that combined with an art form that takes into consideration the dimensions, shapes, sizes, lights, shades, tones and colors. Working with just the six colors available in a Rubik’s Cube is quite challenging, fun and exciting, as he says.

Future Plans:
Omkar has plans to create many more Mosaic artworks with hundreds of Rubik’s Cubes and exhibit them as art installations in Museums, Art Galleries, Exhibitions, Educational Institutions and create artworks for Companies and other establishments that would be interested in his artworks. ENDS
