NATIONAL NEWS:
1. *India pays tribute on Kargil Vijay Diwas*
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited the National War Memorial. He paid tribute to the war heroes for their indomitable spirit and courage that led to the victory of the Indian Armed Forces against Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil war.

2. *PM Modi paid his tribute to the jawans in the 67th edition ‘Mann Ki Baat’.* Speaking on the 21st anniversary of India’s victory over Pakistan in the Kargil war, PM Modi said that ‘bad people’ will always find a way to fight irrespective of friendship – slamming Pakistan and its natures ‘to have enmity with everyone for no reason’.

3. *PM Modi will launch high throughput COVID-19 testing facilities* today via video conferencing. These facilities will ramp up testing capacity in the country and help in strengthening early detection and treatment, thus assisting in controlling the spread of the pandemic.

4. As a *tribute to soldiers* who fought in the Kargil war, *President Ram Nath Kovind* on Sunday *donated Rs 20 lakh to the Army hospital in New Delhi* to buy equipment that will help doctors and paramedics combat COVID-19 effectively.

5. Bahujan Samaj Party *(BSP)* , on Sunday, *issued a whip to its 6 MLAs instructing them to vote against the Congress* in the event of a ‘No Confidence Motion’ or any other proceedings in the Rajasthan Assembly session. All six BSP MLAs had merged with Congress in September 2019 – which has not been recognised by BSP. If they do not support Gehlot, Congress’ numbers will reduce to 98, pushing the govt back to the minority.

6. Earlier Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (RPCC) chief Govind Singh Dotasra announced that *Congress supporters will stage a nationwide protest on Monday.* He announced that supporters will stage support in front of Raj Bhavan in all the states of the country, except Rajasthan. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot submitted a revised proposal to the Governor on convening the assembly session from July 31.

7. *Ayodhya temple project* set to be inaugurated with a *bhoomi pujan on August 5* that is expected have about 200 people in attendance, including PM Modi. ceremony of Ram temple in Ayodhya on August 5 which will be shown live by Doordarshan.

8. *Two unidentified terrorists have been neutralised by the security forces* on July 25 in an encounter in Ranbir Garh area of Srinagar.

10. *Woman delivers baby on NDRF boat in flood-hit East Champaran Bihar:* The woman named Rima Devi (age- 25 yrs)resident of village Gobari, Block- Banjariya, District- East Champaran (Motihari) was in advanced stage of pregnancy at river Burhi Gandak flood-hit village.

11. *DGCA* (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) *extends* the mandatory *air fare band* by 3 more months until November 24.

A gang of six people, including an engineering graduate, which *robbed ATMs (47 Lakhs) by blowing them up with explosives was busted in Madhya Pradesh,* two country-made pistols, eight bullets, detonators, colour printer, three motorcycles, gelatin sticks, mobile phones and laptop have been seized from the gang.

13. *Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in a joint operation* busted a narco terror module at Sadhna Pass *in* north Kashmir’s *Kupwara* district and arrested three people in connection with the case. The team *recovered 10 kg of brown sugar, arms and ammunition* and two vehicles from the possession of the accused.

14. As *Unlock 2 comes to an end on July 31* , the Ministry of Home Affairs is preparing the guidelines for the next phase; *Unlock 3.* It is expected that the Home Ministry will *release* the latest *guidelines before August 1*

FACTS ABOUT INDIA

*Kargil Vijay Diwas* , named after the successful Operation Vijay, is celebrated in India on 26 July. On this date in 1999 India successfully took command of the high outposts which had been lost to Pakistan. The Kargil war was fought for more than 60 days, ended on 26 July and resulted in loss of life on both the sides. The war ended with India regaining control of all the previously held territory, hence re-establishing the the state existing before the war. Indian Army launched a daring assault at *Zulu High in Muskoh Valley.* Undaunted braveness and unflinching willpower of our troops led to profitable seize of the target.

MAHABALIPURAM is a town on a strip of land between the Bay of Bengal and the Great Salt Lake, in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It’s known for its temples and monuments built by the Pallava dynasty in the 7th and 8th centuries. The seafront Shore Temple comprises 3 ornate granite shrines. Know Kargil War happened in 1999*
‍♂️
During the summer of May-July 1999, the tedious Kargil War was fought between India and Pakistan. In May 1999, the Pakistan Army infiltrated into Indian territory in remote locations using subterfuge and captured several mountain tops overlooking the strategic Srinagar-Leh highway. When India sent a survey mission to confirm intrusions into India, five jawans were taken into captivity by the Pakistani Army, triggering an Indian Airforce attack ‘Operation Vijay’.

For the first time in 20 years, India launched strikes against militants in Kashmir beginning ‘Operation Vijay’, promising to continue doing so till the last of the militants were evicted from the Indian soil in Kashmir. During the continuing airstrike, India lost two of its aircraft (MiG-27) with one pilot who had ejected being taken in as a prisoner of war by the Pakistan troops. Soon, Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee declares the Kargil situation – ‘War-like situation’, with IAF continuing its assault on suspected infiltrators holed up in the Himalayas with fresh airstrikes.

As Pakistan returned the mutilated bodies of six Indian soldiers, talks between India and Pakistan broke down while India continued its airstrikes. On July 26, the Indian Army recaptured all the Indian posts in Kargil which had been occupied by the Pakistani Army, a coup that was orchestrated by the then Pakistan army chief General Pervez Musharraf, while Sharif and US President Bill Clinton meet in Washington to take ‘concrete steps will be taken’ to restore the Line of Control.

Relenting to India’s attacks, Sharif announces pull-out of Pakistani troops from Kargil and India declares ‘ *Operation Vijay’* a success – bringing an end to the war on July 26.

HOW IT WORKS ⁉:

Weapons such as cannons, shotguns and rifles, work on the basic idea of conservation of momentum and the change in energy from potential to kinetic.

All firearm uses the basic principles. First, the trigger is pulled, then causing a firing pin to strike the primer, the primer fire up the gunpowder and the flaming powder generates pressure, the pressure pushes the bullet down the barrel and out the muzzle.

When the trigger is pulled the hammer hits the firing pin. The firing pin then hits the primer which causes the powder to burn hence producing lots of gases.

The bullet is propelled through the barrel, it gains momentum. In order for the entire system of the gun and the ammunition to have equal momentum, the gun must gain momentum in the opposite direction from the bullet. (momentum = mass x velocity)

*Why do sculptures in temples have nude and erotic figures if ancient Indians were not open & free?*

God for sex – Kamadeva. So it is only natural that we have erotic sculptures on our temples. There have been many questions raised on the reason behind having erotic sculptures and sexual imagery in a place otherwise considered so ‘holy’ and ‘pure’. There are a few theories floating about but the most popular one seems to be that in order to enter a place so pure, you need to relieve yourself of all your desires and lust. It is by acceptance of lust and desire in you that you can learn to control it. Furthermore, these sculptures are always on the outer walls of temples meaning that the humans need to leave their desires outside before stepping in. In many Indian manuscripts, sex was considered to be spiritual and not hedonistic.

Sex is the essence of life. Sex is an essential part of life system. Without sex, not a single complex creature would have ever existed in this world, except for the creatures who could reproduce asexually. Our ancestors evaluated sex; they valued sex. But, that doesn’t mean that our ancestors were open about sex.

There is a great misconception among the 21st century Indians. We think that:-Ancient Indians were open about sex. They were free about sex. They encouraged promiscuity.

Mostly, these misconceptions generated because people have taken the erotic sculptures of Khajuraho and Konark temples as the only testimony to testify the then current social lifestyle., in those days sex was considered a mutual duty between a married couple. But now it has became a lust, addiction, doing for pleasure, no ethics, easy way of earning & etc… now a days we can’t watch a movie comfortly with our family members. ‍♂️

Kamasutra & Vatsayana are nothing but books containing science regarding sex. Hindu temples were places of worship. But they had another purpose also. They were places of philosophy and knowledge. Since sex was considered essence of life, it was a science too. In ancient India, temples were treated like knowledge centers where people used to visit as pilgrimage.

To aware people about knowledge on sex these sculptures were added to the temples. Since these knowledge were made associated with temples, people considered these pious (as said before). In modern India, we can see awareness programmes on safe sex, contraceptive pills, condoms, family planning, etc. During ancient times, the temples were knowledge centers because it was a place of social gathering where lot of followers used to gather. Remember- TV, radio or other mass propagating media weren’t invented at that time.

*Akshayapatra (अक्षयपात्र)* meaning inexhaustible vessel, is an object from Hindu mythology. It was a wonderful vessel given to Yudishtira by Lord Surya which held a never-depleting supply of food to the Pandavas every day.

One day, Krishna suddenly came to visit the Pandavas when they are in forest, he visits Draupadi and ask for food,  she was sitting and weeping in the kitchen. With tears in her eyes, Draupadi bowed her head before Krishna and showed him  an empty pot in which she had cooked rice that morning and she did not have any more rice in the house. But Krishna said to her: “Thank you sister
Look carefully.” Draupadi looked, and she found a single grain of rice stuck inside the pot. Krishna said “A single grain of rice, if offered to God with love and humility, becomes the beeja (primordial seed) which feeds and satiates the whole universe.” He then ate that single grain of rice. This miraculous divine episode happened on the day which is commemorated as “Akshaya Tritiya” every year, and it occurs around the time of the spring harvest in April-May every year.

Krishna was very sorrowful to see the condition of his sister Draupadi and his cousins, the Pandavas, he then suggest to  hymn 108 chants of lord Surya by Pandavas. Later tgey Blessed by  Surya   with an Akshaya Patra, the inexhaustable vessel.
