Bank of Baroda organizes Mega credit camp for SHGs under Financial Inclusion

MUMBAI,  3 January, 2018 (GPN) : Bank of Baroda has been active in enhancing Financial Inclusion by way of mega camps at various places across the country. One such camp was recently organized at Unnao village of Lucknow Zone in Uttar Pradesh for the Self Help Groups (SHGs) of the region with an objective to link the local SHGs of the area with the bank for all financial services which include credit needs.

Mr. Ashok Kumar Garg, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda graced the event and the others present were Mr. Ajay Kumar, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Mr. A. K. Panda, Chief General Manager, NABARD and Mr. B. S. Dhaka, General Manager, Bank of Baroda. Also senior officials from Central and State Government, various NGOs, banks and other financial institutions were also present.

Mr. Ashok Kumar Garg addressed the gathering, referring to the facilities and schemes offered by Bank of Baroda to the SHGs. He mentioned about the Bank’s significant presence in Uttar Pradesh and penetration into the market with its services through various associations and partnerships, along with the Bank’s operation & network expanse in India and internationally. He announced that with this camp, bank will connect with more than 3500 SHGs and committed full support to them on behalf of the Bank by extending his heartfelt wishes. He emphasized on the end use of funds and timely repayment.

Mr. Ajay Kumar during his address had accentuated on value generation and timely repayment by the borrowers.
Mr. Dhaka in his speech elaborated on the importance of the programme and encouraged beneficiaries to make judicious use of the financial services offered by the bank. He explained the benefits of availing credit facilities from the bank and emphasized on timely repayments of the loans to improve the credit score of the borrowers.

The other officials present at the event gave information on the various schemes like e-Shakti which is available for the SHGs and persuaded them to connect with mainstream banking channels for all their credit needs for development.ENDS
