MUMBAI,4 December, 2017 (GPN): राज्यपाल चेन्नमनेनी विद्यासागर राव यांनी प्रसिद्ध अभिनेते शशी कपूर यांच्या निधनाबद्दल तीव्र दुःख व्यक्त केले आहे. शशी कपूर यांचे भारतीय चित्रपटसृष्टी तसेच रंगभूमीसाठी लक्षणीय असे योगदान राहिले आहे. आपल्या सहज सुंदर अभिनयाने त्यांनी तीन दशकांपेक्षा अधिक काळ गाजविला. पृथ्वी थिएटरच्या माध्यमातून त्यांनी रंगभूमीप्रती आपली निष्ठा आणि बांधिलकी जपली. त्यांच्या निधनाने हिंदी चित्रपटसृष्टीच्या एका महत्वपूर्ण कालखंडाचा साक्षीदार पडद्याआड गेला असल्याचे राज्यपालांनी आपल्या शोक संदेशात म्हटले आहे.

The Governor of Maharashtra CH Vidyasagar Rao has expressed grief on the demise of veteran actor Shashi Kapoor.  “Shashi Kapoor maintained his commitment with theatre through Prithvi Theatre”, he said.

“Sad to hear about noted actor, producer ShashiKapoor jis demise. His contribution in Hindi film industry will be remembered forever. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and millions of fans,” Fadnavis tweeted.

Kapoor, 79, took his last breath at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital here.

He made his debut as a leading man in the 1961 film “Dharmputra” and went on to appear in more than 116 films during 70s and until the mid 80s.

Some of his memorable films include “Fakira”, “Deewar”, “Kabhie Kabhie”, “Namak Halal”, “Kaala Pathar” and others.

He was honoured with Padma Bhushan in 2011 and received the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke award in 2015. Ends
