MUMBAI, 19 november, 2016 (GPN): The Governor of Maharashtra CH Vidyasagar Rao presented the 21st Aditya Vikram Birla Kalashikhar Award for Excellence in Indian Theatre to theatre personality and activist Dr Pratibha Agrawal at a function in Mumbai today.

The award was presented to 86- year old Dr Pratibha Agrawal in recognition of her life time contribution to theatre movement through her organization ‘Natya Shodh Sansthan’.
President of the Sangit Kala Kendra Rajashree Birla and Jury member for the Awards Chhaya Ganguli were present.
Lata Mangeshkar, Pt Bhimsen Joshi, Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma, Pt Birju Maharaj are among the past recipients of the Kala Shikhar Award.

The Governor also presented the Aditya Birla Kala Kiran Award to Puppeteer and Founder of ‘Katkatha Puppet Arts Trust’ Anurupa Roy and theatre director from Kerala Sankar Venkateswaran.
