If you’re visiting Kutch anytime from November to February, then the Rann Utsav is something that you absolutely cannot miss. A unique manifestation of the ethnic flavours and creative ingenuity of the local craftsmen, the festival will give your little one an excellent insight into some of India’s finest handicrafts, along with textiles that boast of exquisite embroidery and mirror work.

Along with that, your little ones can also enjoy horse rides, camel rides, net cricket, table tennis and many more fun games, while you will get an opportunity to try your hand at activities like paramotoring, archery, star gazing, rifle shooting and trikee.

Once you’re done with the festival, the mesmerizing White Rann should be next on your list. Just imagine walking on a span of pure white crystals of salt that stretches endlessly for miles and watching the sun set in the distance. This would be truly a magical experience.

Along with the beauty of the desert, the unique wildlife is something else that’s definitely worth exploring. The little Rann Of Kutch is home to Flamingo City, the only place in India, where pink flamingos regularly gather every year in order to breed, and also a sanctuary for the Indian Wild Ass, one of the three surviving species of Wild Ass in the world. Apart from this, you will also get a chance to see rare and endangered animal species like the Chinkara, Desert Fox, jackal, Desert Cat, Caracal, Blackbuck, Striped Hyena, and over 350 unique bird species.

After you’re done with the Rann Of Kutch, there are quite a few other notable destinations nearby, that will give you and your kids a very unique perspective into the history of the area. For instance, Dholavira is an actual excavation site, containing the ruins of one of the five most prosperous cities from Harappan times and the Aina Mahal, a 250-year-old palace is a blend of Indian and European artistry, with walls of white marble, covered by mirrors. But if beaches are more your idea of the perfect vacation, then the sun-kissed sands and cool, breezy waters of Mandvi beach will be the perfect end to your vacation.

“We sincerely believe that Gujarat has not received its due credit as a tourist destination, and still has plenty to show to the world, especially as a kid-friendly destination” says Nidhi Batra, Little Nirvana Explorers’ co-founder. “That’s why, though our group tour, we are aiming to bring the unique aspects of Gujarat into the limelight.”
