Mumbai, 2 December, 2017 (GPN) : Haas F1 Development Driver, Arjun Maini, is all set to make his mark in his maiden FIA Formula 2 season, starting his journey in style by grabbing the day 2 honours at the FIA Formula 2 Championship post-season test at Yas Marina Circuit. He also carried this momentum into the morning session of Day 3, where he again claimed the top spot. Driving the Russian Time’s Artem Markelov’s car, who finished second in the F2 Drivers Championship Series in 2017, Arjun topped the time sheets with a lap of 1:48.645 on Friday, and a 1:49.040 in Saturday’s morning session.
The JK-Tyre and TVS Motorsport supported driver, completed the morning session in the F2 team championship winners Russian Time’s car with a P5 Finish, before a penalty for the car being only 1 KG underweight, cost him a place in the session standings. He dominated the next two sessions however with impressive drives on both days.
The final day of testing will happen on Saturday with the evening session at 20:00 (GMT+5:30).ENDS
