QNET Responds to Allegations in Charge sheet

MUMBAI, 1/1/2017 ( GPN)  : QNet is relieved that the Mumbai EOW has finally filed the charge sheet after a protracted delay of more than three years of investigations of the company.

“We are relieved that the 40-month long investigation into QNet has finally come to an end. The company and its business model have been at the receiving end of numerous baseless allegations in the media for more than three years. Our shareholders, officials, and independent representatives have been put through a gruelling trial by media and their reputation has been tarnished incessantly during this period. Now that the charge sheet has been filed and the court trial will begin, we will be able to prove beyond doubt the inapplicability of all the offences levelled against the company in the charge sheet”, said a company spokesperson for Vihaan Direct Selling, the sub-franchisee of QNet in India.

According to the charge sheet, Gurpreet Singh Anand had filed a complaint against two Independent Representatives of QNet for selling a fraudulent product to his wife Mrs Parmeet Kaur, which they claimed would help cure their son’s brain ailment.

QNet and its sub-franchisee Vihaan Direct Selling India Pvt Ltd refute this claim. The company has submitted documents to show that Mrs Parmeet Kaur never purchased the Bio Disc product as alleged in the charge sheet. In fact, she placed an order for an online education product from the QNet India company portal and subsequently cancelled this order. Hence, no financial transaction ever took place between Parmeet Kaur and QNet or Vihaan Direct Selling Pvt Ltd.

The charge sheet filed by the EOW incorporates substantial documents of about 50,000 such papers supplied voluntarily by the accused officials named in the charge sheet. Despite this, the charge sheet conclusion is a cyclostyled version of the affidavits filed by the investigating agency during the bail and/or remand proceedings in the last 3 years.

The final stand in the charge sheet does not take into account a single piece of documentation or submission provided by Vihaan Direct Selling and its officials. QNet and Vihaan hope and believe that the hon’ble courts would see through this and justice will be delivered.

QNet has been under investigation since August 2013. Currently, two shareholders of Vihaan Direct Selling (India) Pvt Ltd and two ex-directors are in judicial custody in Mumbai. They had voluntarily surrendered to EOW on 30th September 2016. These officials have been fully cooperating with the authorities while awaiting the regular bail process.

QNet hopes that with the conclusion of investigation, the officials who voluntarily surrendered to the police for custodial enquiry will now be released, as the legal procedures would take their own course and time. The company has complete faith in the judiciary and will abide by its due process.

QNet reiterates that it is a legitimate direct selling company and does not solicit any investments, take deposits or offer any jobs to its independent representatives. The question of running a Ponzi scheme or an investment scheme simply does not arise. All products are sold through the company’s eCommerce platform. Those who enrol as independent representatives have the opportunity to earn commissions from product sales.
