The Vega Helmets Blind Walkathon to promote and create awareness about the need to use helmets – both for riders and pillion riders in Mumbai, will be held on 7th February 2016 at Evershine Nagar, Opp Movie Time theatre, Malad West, Mumbai.

BJP Vice President (Minorities Cell) Nevada Putman along with Arshi Khan and other Bollywood celebs will flag off the Vega Helmets Blind Walkathon  at 9 am sharp from Movie Time Theatre, Evershine Nagar, Malad (W), a spokesperson for Vega Helmets said.

Over 50 blind or differently  abled persons – both men and women along with about 100 other volunteers and TV and film personalities will participate in the Vega Helmets Blind Walkathon. Model and actress Arshi Khan has shot for the Vega Helmets Blind Walkathon print campaign in Mumbai last week.  Bollywood photographer Raju Asrani and others have also shot for the Vega Helmets Road Safety Campaign.

The event will be flagged off at 9 am with about 200 participants in all are expected to participate in the event with the Women’s Cell headed by Nevada Putman’s wife, Andreena Putman also participating with a Women’s Cyclothon.

While the creatives for the campaign are designed by Camaal Mustafa Sikandar of DesignAge, Arshi Khan shot with Bollywood photographer  Jude Fernandes for the Vega Helmets Road Safety Week campaign. The Vega Helmets Blind Walkathon has been conceptualized by Manish Singh of ProBikerz, Malad and supported by Evershine Mitra Mandal.

Arshi Khan along with several other Bollywood celebrities had recently launched the  “Road Safety Week” campaign in Mumbai on 26th January – Republic Day. The campaign includes several proactive awareness initiatives, including the need for pillion riders of bikes and scooters to wear helmets even on interior roads. The campaign will also target women riders –whose numbers have increased exponentially on Indian roads as well college students who normally do not wear helmets.

“One of the biggest causes of head injuries is not wearing helmets while riding said a spokesperson for Vega Helmets, and we are trying to spread the awareness that wearing a good helmet can save your life,” said Jenil Bhansali from Vega Helmets.

The entire programme is promoted by IndiaNewsNetwork.IN and organized with support from the Mumbai Traffic Police Cell.
