Vijay Marpelli of Mumbai knocked out Sudhir Khopkar of Ratnagiri in a straight games encounter 25-7, 25-0 to enter second round of the Men Singles event in the 8th Maharashtra State Ranking Prize Money Carrom Tournament 2016 organised by Shivaji Park Gymkhana, Dadar, Mumbai under the auspices of Mumbai District Carrom Association, and Maharashtra Carrom Association at Shivaji Park Gymkhana, Dadar.
In another two game encounter Hitendra Patel of Mumbai blanked Datta Vinerkar also of Mumbai 25-0, 25-6 to enter second round. Siddhant Vadwalkar of Mumbai overcame Shrikant Koli of Thane 25-6, 25-19 in straight games encounter. Irfan Shaikh of Thane blanked Pandurang Patil of Raigad 25-4, 25-0 in straight games encounter to enter 2nd round. In another first round match Nasir Shaikh of Mumbai blanked Shashikant Chalke of Satara 25-0, 25-6 to advance in to second round. In another match Jaichand Betvanshi of Mumbai easily prevailed over Mayuresh More also of Mumbai in straight games 25-9, 25-1 to advance further.
First Break to Finish of this tournament was scored by Vishwanath Deorukhkar & First Black to Finish was scored by Vaibhav Korgaonkar.
For the opening ceremony Shri. Jayraj Pathak-Former Municipal Commissioner, Shri. Ramakant Birajdar-Asst. Municipal Commissioner-G-North, Former Test Cricketer Shri.
