MUMBAI, (GPN): R City Mall, Ghatkopar, Mumbai’s largest shopping mall, welcomed the country’s first ‘Red Carpet Wax Museum’, where Indians can now stand next to life like wax statues of renowned personalities ranging from Mahatma Gandhi, Dalai Lama, Barack Obama to Queen Elizabeth and click photos. Shiv Sena working President Udhav Thackeray unveiled the first ever wax statue of the late Shri Balasaheb Thackeray and went on to inaugurate the Red Carpet Wax Museum, located on the first floor of the Mall’s South Wing.

The Red Carpet Wax Museum showcases a galaxy of world renownedpeople in life sized statuesacross the spectrum of politics, social, entertainment, sports and various walks of life. Sculpted by specialized artists from different continents around the globe, each of these wax statues are meticulously planned and created in intricate processes that often run for 4-6 months. Some of the prominent personalities that are part of the Museum are Mahatma Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, Dalai Lama, Barack Obama, Queen Elizabeth, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Daniel Craig, Harry Potter, Wolverine, etc. There are also special zones which depict world record holders such as the Shortest Man of the World-  Chandra Bahadu Dangi and the Tallest Man in the World – Sultan Kosen.

Speaking at the R City Mall, Ghatkopar on Saturday Uddhav Thackeray, President Shiv Sena said, “I am delighted and honored to inaugurate the first ever life sized wax statue of the late Shiv Sena patriarch Shri. Balasaheb Thackeray. This Wax Museum almost brings eminent personalities to life for people to see and stand with. We welcome this initiative by Mohit Ochani and his team who have recreated the experience of viewing wax statues which till today could only be enjoyed only by travelling to London. I would like to encourage and extend my support to more such innovative projects that are putting Mumbai, Maharashtra and the country on the global map.”

Speaking on the launch of the Wax Museum, Subhash Runwal, Chairman – Runwal Group said, “We are very honoured to have Shri.
