MUMBAI, 12 April, 2017 (GPN) : In a bid to enhance its sports offering on its platform, Amazon has partnered with Australian cricket training product company Bowling Master for the latter’s India entry. The partnership will see the portal offer Bowling Master’s cricket training kit for bowlers along with other products exclusively.

“I have never seen anything like this before. It’s so important to understand how to bowl at a good length, however not every kid knows where a good length is. Bowling Master provides the exact length to bowl the ball for all different types of deliveries and being able to track and view the results,” said cricketer Brett Lee also the Product Ambassador for Bowling Master.

Powered by sensors, the kit includes colour coded devices that when rolled out alongside the cricket pitch provide instant feedback on the area of the pitch where the bowler lands the ball. The products are Australian designed and the claim to be the first of its kind cricket training aid.

The product also comes with an app that can give the bowler a real-time view of their performance and track this over time to see progress.

“Sports has been one of the fastest growing categories on Amazon.in where we offer over 1.2 million products across domestic and international brands. Bowling Master training kit is an innovative product and will be extremely helpful for all aspiring cricketers to improve their bowling performance basis data and technology,” said Kaveesh Chawla, Director – Category Management at Amazon India.

The Sports Category has grown over the years since it was launched 3 years ago, claims the company. Chawla says the category is also seeing some merchant-owned brands making a foray due to increased demand, over 50% of which comes from smaller towns and cities.

“In the last one year alone, we have clocked 150% growth in the sports category which is growing faster than the platform as a whole,” Chawla told GPN NETWORK. Amazon sources most of its products for the sports category from hubs in Meerut and Jalandhar within the country.
