Mumbai, 2nd August, 2019 (GPN) : Graduating Day ceremony of the fourth batch of bakers from Puratos Sanskaar Foundation School, a bakery school, run as a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative by Puratos India, was held in Navi Mumbai on August 1st, 2019. This year 21students from diverse backgrounds received their certification in Bakery, Patisserie and Chocolate.During the intensive two-year study program students learn the art of baking simple breads to complex finished applications. Each of these graduating students have been provided a platform for opportunities within the industry in India.

The school was inaugurated in 2014 as Puratos’s commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR). This was the first school established in India by Puratos Group. The school is aimed at minimizing skilled manpower shortage in the bakery industry and empowering youngsters to become self-sufficient.
The school is in the premises of the Shiravane Vidyalaya and Junior College in Navi Mumbai. We enroll approx. 25 students each year mainly from this college, where most of the students out of 3,000 plus come from underprivileged backgrounds.
The course boasts a wide curriculum, beginning with the basics of baking and patisserie and moving on to advanced levels of patisserie, sugar work and chocolate making. Students enrolled receive world class training from trainers who have been trained by Puratos headquarter in Belgium. In 2016, the first batch of 16 students graduated after receiving 2 years of intensive training and a course completion certificate from Puratos. They stepped in to the exciting world of Bakery, Patisserie and Chocolate and carved a bright and financially secure future on being placed with the top-notch brands in India’s bakery space.
