Three-in-one mega event on Future Cities with CAPEx and IIPM

Mumbai, September 19, 2018 (GPN) : The 15th Municipalika Exhibition & Conference in Mumbai is expanding as a 360 degrees event on city development, with the addition of Construction, Architecture & Planning Exhibition (CAPEx) and India International Property Mart (IIPM) – the first of its kind B2B forum for real estate.

The three-in-one international conference and exhibition at the Bombay Exhibition Centre is being organised under the banner of ‘Future Cities’ –  an exposition of technologies, products and services for urban development.

Municipalika 2018 was inaugurated byMahendra Jain, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development Department, Government of Karnataka and Divya Kush, President, Indian Institute of Architects. H.E. Nadir Patel, High Commissioner for Canada to India, was also present at Municipalika’s inaugural session, sharing Canada’s experience in building world-class cities and underscoring Canada’s commitment to India.

The event has participation of over 200 delegates in the conference segment, from over 300 Indian cities and towns and abroad and professional visitors in the exhibition segment, including ministers, mayors, municipal commissioners, urban local bodies, CEOs of Smart Cities and parastatals, along with technology providers, professionals and all urban stakeholders. Faculty and students of architecture, engineering, technology and management institutions are participating to get exposure on the latest trends.

The 15th Municipalika 2018 provides a mega-networking forum for governments, experts, entrepreneurs and service providers to collectively find solutions to urban challenges. Municipalika provides a platform to evolve, evaluate and share policies, strategies, cutting-edge technologies and innovations towards smart and sustainable living in cities.

Canada, the Partner Country, is bringing an array of technological best practices for possible use in India’s city development missions. To explore collaboration opportunities with Indian businesses in the infrastructure and smart cities sector 28 leading Canadian urban infrastructure, Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence companies will be visiting Municipalika. The mission has been organised by the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) of Global Affairs Canada, in collaboration with the Government of Ontario, the Government of British Columbia, the Government of Alberta, Air Canada and the Indo-Canadian Business Chamber.

At Municipalika, the Canadian companies are exhibiting their services and members of the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service team are present at the Canada pavilion to facilitate business interactions.

Rajasthan is the Partner State, continuing a partnership of last few years, to showcase all the excellent urban and housing initiatives in the state. Karnataka, Kerala, Assam, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Goa, are also represented in a big way, as are 20 more states.

With the ongoing Urban Transformation process for 100 Smart Cities, 500 AMRUT Cities, PMAY-Housing for All, Swachh Bharat Mission, the event aims at discussing strategies, best practices and display of technologies, equipment and solutions for implementing these agendas across the country including ease of doing business.

The Smart Cities Conclave has participation from several Smart City CEOs, industry experts and technology providers – dealing with challenges and opportunities arising out of the Smart Cities Mission. There is a special session on Fire and Public Safety, which had the participation of Chief Fire Officers, fire engineers and professional institutions deliberating about the fire regulations for all types of buildings and their enforcement in-line with the National Building Code of India.

The three-day long conference also includes sessions on Resilient and Secure Cities, Healthy Cities, Green Cities, Connected Cities, Digital Cities and on Integrated Cities for self-contained cities. The Humane Cities session will deliberate on the Housing For All Agenda, progress achieved and the path forward for achieving the goal by 2022.

Municipalika 2018 is also hosting a session on Participative Cities which is an interactive session between citizens and government for joint actions in improving our cities. There is an Annual Meet organised by All India Council of Mayors, where Mayors from across the country are participating.

CAPEX – Construction, Architecture, Planning and Engineering Expo, is a platform for showcasing innovative building materials and technologies. The Expo will provide opportunities to project the needs of infrastructure, building construction and architecture and providers of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire services (MEPF), green building products, building materials and technologies which are environment-friendly and energy saving.

The Decision Maker’s Conclave, a special Buyer-Seller meet, will provide a great opportunity for solution providers to meet architects, builders, green building consultants, EPC project heads and material procurement heads from large corporations.

India International Property Mart(IIPM) is India’s first and only B2B property show. IIPM is showcasing properties and projects covering all asset classes (commercial, residential, retail, hospitality, logistics, SEZs, etc.) for investing, buying, leasing and operation. IIPM is hosting national and international exhibitors, and B2B visitors for property investments and sale, bringing in real estate operators, builders, developers and allied institutions for promoting investments in all asset classes, cities and townships, economic zones and business parks.

The event is being organised with JLL as the Knowledge Partner. JLL is co-curating the sessions with Good Governance India Foundation.ENDS
