MUMBAI,22 December, 2017 (GPN) :
Huawei Honor View 10 the upcoming model from Huawei is expected to be priced at Rs.38,000 /- in India. The mobile is being launched on 8th January 2018 with a recent update received from sources today. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo. It has a 5.9-inch Full HD+ display. The phone is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Kirin 970 SoC and 6GB of RAM.The View 10’s Kirin 970 SoC puts it on par with phones running the Snapdragon 835. If anyone said this wasn’t a flagship, they’d be mistaken. This is the best processor Huawei currently makes. The software also has a lot of nifty tricks on board – helped along by artificial intelligence. You can answer and place calls with your voice, translate speech on the go and find your phone by simply saying “where are you”? You can also prevent nosy friends and family members from reading lock screen notifications by enabling facial recognition lock. Oddly enough, facial recognition cannot be used to unlock the smartphone itself.

The device has dual 20+16MP primary camera with a dual-LED flash and a 13MP front-facing camera. These come with a wide aperture range as well, ranging from f/.95 to f/16. That’s pretty crazy wide open, and we’re excited to see just how much depth of field we’re able to pull out of such a small sensor. The AI also improves the front camera face detection, which we found to be of help when taking selfies in bokeh mode. The bokeh doesn’t work if the face is not detected (which was the problem with Honor 7X) so it’s quite a helpful add.Smartphone cameras are not usually very good at that, but we’re hoping to see some interesting results.

These aren’t Leica cameras like you’d find in the Mate 10 or Mate 10 Pro, so you’re not going to able to brag about that. They do, however, have a lot of the same camera features as the Mate series. There’s a nice “pro” mode, moving picture, portrait mode, and yes, even monochrome. We were able to take a couple sample shots at the event. Take a look and let us know what you think. It comes with 64GB of built-in storage which can further be expanded using a microSD card up to 256GB. Connectivity includes dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, Infrared, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The device has got a 1080p screen that is perfectly fine, and this particular 5.99″ FHD+ display looks big, bright, and beautiful. If you want a big display, this has one, and it maintains a form factor that fits comfortably in the hand. What’s surprising here is the fingerprint sensor has made its way from the rear onto the front and can be found nestled underneath the display, which the company states that it’s a better placement as compared to the rear panel because of ergonomics. The smartphone has a speaker grille and USB-type C port at the bottom, and yes, there exists a 3.5mm headphone jack too.

Powering that enormous display is a 3,750 mAh battery, which is quite respectable for a phone this size. Sure, it’s not the 4,000 mAh cell powering the Mate 10, but it’s close. Honor didn’t give us any estimates as to how long this battery should last you. We think it will do quite well, though we’ll have to see how it fares in our full review. The View 10 anticipated as ‘Your first AI phone’ is the company’s latest flagship super smartphone with a dedicated NPU chip tuned to power artificial intelligence which will set a new trend for 2018. The smartphone goes up a bit ahead of the likes of the OnePlus 5T and Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 2 in the performance arena and seems to closely follow into Apple’s iPhone X space as far as a few features are concerned.Stay tuned — our in-depth review will be up shortly.
