Jammu and Kashmir, CM Mehbooba Mufti seeks help of people of Maharashtra to promote Jammu and Kashmir tourism

Mumbai, March 17 (GPN) : With a view to promote the tourism of Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti sought the help and support of the people of Maharashtra in a media interaction at JW Marriott Juhu on Friday

The state is known for its constant gunbattle and turmoil and is thus considered as a place unsafe for tourism. Mufti said, “Maharashtra has played a crucial role to help shape the image of J&K. My father believed in the people of Maharashtra and always wanted to make our state as beautiful as heaven. I want to continue what my father did and therefore request the people of Maharashtra to help and promote J&K tourism.”

Mufti requested the media to promote the beauty of India’s renowned tourist place Jammu and Kashmir, so that the image of the state is cemented in the minds of the people as a safe and secure destination.

Accoring to Farooq Shah, Secretary of J&K Tourism and Floriculture said, ”The tourism department of J&K considered Maharashtra as their best friend in difficult times. “The state government is planning to invest Rs 2,400 crore in the next 4 years to give a boost to the tourism sector. We are also expecting Rs 30,000 crore investment from the private sector towards infrastructure development, including hospitality, convention centres among others in the next 10 years”.
