Mumbai, 9 Nov, 2016 (GPN) : HyperCITY Retail Ltd (India), one of the largest hypermarket chains in the country today concluded the ‘Hyper Budding Chef Contest’ in association with FOODFOOD Channel in Mumbai. Judged by Celebrity Chef Shailendra Kekade, the ‘Hyper Budding Chef Contest’, is a unique platform for food enthusiasts to become entrepreneurs and showcase their culinary skills at HyperCITY stores.
Mumbai, the city of dreams played host to Celebrity Chef Shailendra Kekade who took on the daunting task to choose Mumbai’s Hyper Budding Chef. 42 lucky chefs were shortlisted by HyperCITY through online registration on its Facebook page and offline at the HyperCITY, Malad store. These chefs were asked to bring-in pre-cooked dishes on the finale day, which were tasted and evaluated by Chef Shailendra Kekade. The dishes were judged based on originality, innovation, taste and presentation.
The Hyper Budding Chef Contest – Mumbai Grand Finale witnessed participation from not just Mumbai but also from Saudi Arabia.
The event witnessed contestants across age groups, from kids, home-makers, working women to senior food enthusiasts. Ms. Khushbhoo Gugle won the Hyper Budding Chef title in Mumbai for her innovative ‘Choconana Crinkle Cookies’. Ms. Supriya Shrivastav was awarded as the 1st runner up for ‘Masala Balls’ and Ms. Aarti Mishra was awarded as the 2nd runner up for ‘Semolina Spinach Balls’.

Chef Shailendra Kekade, host of the show “STYLE CHEF” on FOODFOOD Channel not only judged the finale but was also seen revealing his secrets of plating at HyperCITY. He engaged with the audience by sharing his lesser known techniques and exotic ingredients, in the most extraordinary yet simple manner. He was also spotted using ingredients and homeware available at HyperCITY and took plating and presentation of food to a whole new level.
Owing to the great success that The Hyper Budding Chef received, HyperCITY will be taking the Hyper Budding Chef Initiative to the next level across India.
This Hyper Budding Chef Contest takes place at HyperCITY Stores across Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi, Noida, Pune, Bhopal, Vadodara, Ahmedabad and Amritsar.

The first winner in each city will get the following,
1.A chance to become a Food Entrepreneur at the HyperCITY store. The winner will be eligible to set up his/her food stall at HyperCITY store and will be able sell his/her own food, without any additional charges
2.Top three shortlisted winners (out of 20 HyperCITY stores) will get a chance to become a star on FoodFood channel,
3.Gift Vouchers worth INR 25000 from HyperCITY
