CHANDIVALI RESIDENTS ROCKED THE WALKATHON FEST

Mumbai, October 25, 2016 (GPN) : Walkathon ‘Every step Counts’ a 2-day cultural fest organised by Nahar Medical Center on the 22nd and 23rd October, 2016; sets new benchmark for the residents of Chandivali, Powai by creating a fusion of Fitness Fun Flea Fest. It featured the first ever Nahar Premier League Cricket Tournament, 2016 season had 8 Teams participating from Nahar Amrit Shakti, The Diwali Flea Market with 25+ Stalls and its flagship event Walkathon featured 7Km walkathon and 2Km Dream walk in its 2nd year garnered a phenomenal participation of more than 1000+ participants not only from Chandivali but from across Mumbai.

Promoting the cause for a healthy lifestyle for the well-being of the people, Walkathon was an encouragement for the people to come and participate. A certain amount on every participation was donated to Mann, a Foundation that supports development of Children with special needs. Dancing to the tunes of the DJ, every single participant – right from the excited 2-year old child to the enthusiastic 85-year old young at heart citizen added to the energetic vibe and high spirits while crossing the finish line much before the expected time.

“The route for walkathon and vicinity infrastructure was well kept and maintained for the event & encouraged the Walkathon participants. The event would not have been possible without the support of our partners. Special Thanks to Principal Vandana Arora and the staff of Nahar International School for providing us with the school premises and involved participation.” said Dr. Kavita Torne, Admin Head, Nahar Medical Center.

The event was graced with the presence of known personalities and celebrities whose mantra is also maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Some notable guests included Bollywood Celebrities like Ms. Pooja Bedi, Mr. Ashmit Patel, Mr. Nikitin Dheer, Ms. Simer Motiani; and Mr. Sukhraj Nahar- Chairman, Nahar Group; Family and Friends including Mrs. Sohinidevi Nahar, Ms. Manju Yagnik, Ms. Dimple Nahar, Ms. Shital Nahar Agarwal, Ms. Pooja Nahar Oswal, Mr. Vicky Oswal, Mr. Sunil Agarwal, Mr. Jayantilal Bafna were also present at the event along with Nahar Group Staff.

Mr. Johnny Joseph, IAS-Ex Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai who was a part of Walkathon commented that “Walkathon was beautifully organized, a veritable combination of efficiency and meticulousness.”

Orchid Strikers were the Champions of the Nahar Premier League Season 2016 winning the nail bitter against Ivy-Iris Panthers. Participants of Walkathon as well as the stall owners at the Diwali Flea market were awarded at the event under various categories.
