MUMBAI, 23 October, 2016 (GPN): Eijaz Khan, Nivedita Basu, Kedhar Gawde, Dhiraj Battu, Ashish Sablawat & Deepak Gupta, unveiled their new venture – BEACH VOLLEYBALL MANIA. The event was a fun-filled crazy amalgamation of Glamour & Sports and was held yesterday, at Tote on the Turf, Mahalaxmi Race Course, Mumbai. Celebrities from the Film, Modelling & TV worlds’ were present for the Announcement, which was far from being a conventional one.

The event began with the Amabassdor of Seychelles and Celebrities arriving at the venue, who were then escorted to the Lounge. Salil Acharya, the host of the evening, then welcomed the Ambassador on stage who spoke a few words about the event & how Seychelles is happy to host the new venture. The Board of Directors were later called on stage to share their thoughts on the new venture, followed by the afterparty.
Eijaz Khan, said, “I’ve been an athlete all my life & have played sports on various levels. I always look for opportunities to incorporate sports in my life in some way. As an actor, we hardly get any time to vacation, chill with family & friends, to follow a hobby or sport together. So I think this way I will be able to get time for something I am really passionate about – Sports.”
Nivedita Basu, said, “Have played aports all my life but mostly competitive sports & till today I play squash, etc. So rather than just owning a team, this time round I was looking to be part of the whole venture in the foreground to grow it. So being from the entertainment field, I realized that sports sells with actual sportsmen. So a sport like Beach Volleyball, which has a glamour quotient, was a great opportunity. We know that if you do a right mix, you can have a great property.”
Kedhar Gawde, said, “What fascinates me is that this property has the perfect amalgamation of film, fashion & sport. New innovative properties like these are what India needs. I plan to bring in my experience in the fashion & lifestyle space, to take this sport to the next level – a next, sexy & glamorous level.”
Dhiraj Battu, said, “Coming from a media background, starting up new ventures has always been my forte. When Ashish & I got together, we decided to start this new venture. Beach Volleyball is a concept that we have always seen on TV in international shows, so we know that the young generation is aware of this sport & will be very eager to play it too.”
Ashish Sablawat, said, “Sports is now becoming an integral part of India, while films & glamour have always been in the forefront. Dhiraj & I thought of starting a new fun venture which brought together sports & glamour together and what better sport than Beach Volleyball, which always has a glamour quotient involved in it.”
Deepak Gupta, said, “I’ve always believed in backing good ideas and this is an innovative one, introducing a sport in style.”
Beach volleyball is a team sport played by two teams of 4-6 players on a sand court divided by a net. It has been an Olympic discipline since the 1996 Games.
BEACH VOLLEYBALL MANIA, will be held in Seychelles in 2017. It will have 6 teams, which will comprise of 10 players, out of which 5 will be Celebs & 5 will be individuals’ who will be selected from different cities to play along side the Celebs.
