Thane Traffic Police celebrated Road Safety Campaign through Drawing Competition “Rang Majhe Sobti” in association with Amway India  

Thane 22nd January 2016: Thane Traffic Police in association with Amway India organized a mega Inter-school Drawing Competition with an aim to create awareness about ‘road safety’ and ‘traffic etiquettes’ amongst the general public. Over 3000 school students from Thane, Kalyan, Bhivandi, Ullahasnagar and Dombivili actively participated in the competition held at Dadoji Konddev Stadium. Present on the occasion were Mr Ashutosh Dumbhare, Joint Commissioner of Police, Thane; Dr. Rashmi Karandikar, Deputy Commissioner of Police – Traffic, Thane; Cine Celebrities like Actors Mr Ayushman Khurana; Mrs. Bhavani Aytha, Area Manager Maharashtra & Goa, Amway India & Mr. Ashish Vaidya, Regional Corporate Affairs Manager, Amway India West.

In today’s drawing competition, students painted their thoughts & imagination on the theme “Rang Majhe Sobati” (Color with me) on traffic rules and related subjects. Through this mega drawing competition, Thane Traffic Police intended to drive key message of “Safety is not a Slogan, it is way of life”. Winners of this competition will be awarded trophies by Thane Traffic Police and Amway India.

 

Speaking on the occasion Mr Ashutosh Dumbhare, Joint Commissioner of Police, Thane said, “I am sure this campaign will encourage the kids and their parents to follow simple methods of road safety like wearing seat belts & helmets, using pedestrian crossings and abiding by the speed limits. We appreciate support of corporates like Amway India to raise this cause, he added.”

 

Commenting on the initiative Dr. Rashmi Karandikar, Deputy Commissioner of Police-Traffic, Thane said, “Children are future our country and it is important to make them aware on road safety from early age so that they grow up as responsible citizens.”

 

Mr Sandeep Prakash, Regional Head, Amway India – West, said, “It is our pleasure to get associated with Thane Traffic Police in their endeavor to generate interest & create awareness on ‘Road Safety’ amongst the public. This is our fourth year association in continuation with Thane Traffic Department in this initiative and the manner in which these children have expressed their imaginations through their creative paintings is really commendable.”
