IIFA UTSAVAM LAUNCHES A HUGE CAMPAIGN IN AID OF CHENNAI – ‘BE ONE FOR CHENNAI’

New Delhi, January 2016: The biggest celebration of South Indian cinema, the Fortune Sunflower Oil IIFA UTSAVAM co-powered by GIONEE smartphone and Renault – Passion for Life will witness the coming together of the biggest superstars of the South Indian Film Industries on January 24th and 25th 2016. This premier edition of IIFA Utsavam promises to bring the best of glitz and glamour to Hyderabad.

The film awards extravaganza was scheduled to take place in December this year but was postponed due to the tragic calamity in Chennai and the subsequent inability of the Tamil film fraternity to attend the awards. IIFA Management took a decision along with the stakeholders to as a mark of respect and solidarity to reschedule the celebrations as a fundraiser for those affected by the Chennai floods. The IIFA management has launched the ‘Be One For Chennai’ campaign, a campaign to garner support and funds wherein all proceeds will also go toward relief and aid to those affected by the Chennai Floods.

Donations can be made online via www.iifautsavam.com/be1forchennai from January 14th onwards. Aiding those affected by the Chennai floods, 100% of the donations collected will be given to charity.

South Indian cinema fans and enthusiasts from around the world can expect to see their favorite film stars descend on Hyderabad during the weekend for the magnificent extravaganza envisioned to honor and showcase the best of South Indian cinema.  A show like never witnessed before in the region. The green carpet at IIFA Utsavam will be a star -studded affair with the biggest and the best of Indian cinema set to grace the event.

The Superstar lineup of performers at the premiere edition of IIFA Utsavam includes Shivrajkumar, ChiranjeeviSarja, Jeeva, Bharath, Arun Vijay, Devisree Prasad, Tamannah Bhatia, Shriya Saran, TapseePannu, Prabhu Deva, Priyamani, Ram CharanTeja, Akhil Akkineni, Devisree Prasad and Adah Sharma. The list goes on to include a plethora of some of the biggest names also in attendance including Kavya Madhavan, Arun Vijay, Mamta Mohandas and Nikki Galrani. Prominent attendees confirmed for the celebrations include film star celebrities Kamal Hassan, Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, Namrata Shirodkar, Jayam Ravi, Kajal Aggarwal, Nassar, Karthi, Siddarthand Aravind Swamy. K, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Daggubati Venkatesh, Allu Arjun, Jagapati Babu and Naga Chaitanya.

We appeal to the film fraternity, media, corporates and fans to join us and Be One for Chennai. We are confident South India will have never have witnessed a greater celebration than what we have planned with IIFA Utsavam”.

Akkineni Nagarjuna commented, “It comes as great news that the IIFA Utsavam celebrations will now take place in January as a fundraiser. The act is a great move to not only honor excellence of South Indian cinema but also uphold the wellbeing of the citizens residing here. I applaud the management’s decision to extend their support to those affected by the Chennai disaster. IIFA Utsavam will surely be one of kind celebrations of cinema and its audiences”.

IIFA Utsavam awards presentation ceremony will take place at the Gachibowli Outdoor Stadium in Hyderabad on January 24th and 25th. The dazzling Green carpet event will feature popular stars of films and music, bringing together the biggest talent from across the South Indian industry.

IIFA Utsavam has been conceptualized to take South Indian Cinema to the world and will be a massive stride towards recognizing the increasing prominence of South Indian cinema across India & internationally.

An initiative by Wizcraft International Entertainment, IIFA Utsavam aims to recognize and commend the best across the South Indian film industry with a voting process based on a peer-to-peer recognition, members of the music industry encompassing industry stalwarts, music directors, producers, lyricists, singers, technicians, composers and leaders in the music business vote for winners across all the categories. The votes are then tabulated by KPMG, who are the process auditors for IIFA Utsavam, after which the winners are determined.
