WTC Navi Mumbai organises its 1st International Business Guidance Seminar

World Trade Center Navi Mumbai has become operational in terms of its services such as Trade Education & Trade Information. As part of the International network of 330 WTC’s in around 100 countries, the WTC Navi Mumbai, promoted by Raheja Universal Group, will provide the infra structure facilities as well as knowledge based services to promote International Trade & Investment.

WTC Navi Mumbai organised its 1st International Business Guidance Seminar on the auspicious day of Makar Sankrant on 14th January 2016 at its office at 91 Springboard, Raheja District-1, Juinagar. The Theme of the seminar was “Challenges & Opportunities in International Business in Globalising World”.

While welcoming the guests & participants, Mr Jayant Ghate, Advisor, WTC Navi Mumbai explained the role of WTC Navi Mumbai in development of Trade of Navi Mumbai region. He mentioned that as many as 7,50,000 business organisations are associated with the WTC’s worldwide. He also added that Raheja Universal Group has brought Navi Mumbai region on the map of WTCA, New York.  The WTC Navi Mumbai Vision is “Bringing The World Together” & Mission is “To Provide Multi Dimensional Services & Facilities for Businesses & Governments”.

While delivering the inaugural address, Prof. Dr. R. Gopal – Director of DY Patil University School of Management, Navi Mumbai, traced the environments in which the International business operates and highlighted the core principles of globalisation. He said “New initiatives of the Government such as Make in India, Smart Cities etc. are really good since these will lead to development and globalisation in better ways. But these need to be translated into reality in a right manner and in a right spirit.”

Mr Virendra S Gupte, Consultant, TATA International was the key note speaker. In his address he covered a wide range of theme issues such as – Concept of Globalisation, Challenges for countries/societies, Agenda for developing Global mindset, Why customer-centric mindset necessary for deciding on value chains & Business model to reflect responsible behaviour for stake holder accountability

Mr Gupte expressed “Globalisation means many things to many people. What is important is to develop a global mindset; one must develop ability to change, ability to be flexible and ability to innovate effectively for achieving success. TPOs like WTC Navi Mumbai, IMC, EEPC can act as catalysts in this endeavour by upgrading knowledge and by providing opportunities for business development”.

 

Mr R K Jain, Chairman, Indian Merchants Chamber, Navi Mumbai was the Special Guest of Honour on this occasion. He provided insight into operations of Export & Import business to the participants & explained the role of IMC in promotion of trade.

Mr Navin Gupta of Raheja Universal explained the WTC Navi Mumbai project in terms of its various facilities which will be established in Raheja District-I. He also mentioned that Raheja District-II proposes to provide Industrial Park with facilities that are not just modern but revolutionary.

As many as 100 participants from various organisations representing industry & trade as well start ups & B-School MBA students participated in this International Business Guidance Seminar. WTC Navi Mumbai will be organising many such programmes in future for the benefit of business community in the region.
