Pune, 16th January 2016: One of Pune’s well-known nightlife destinations Evviva Sky Lounge won the Times Food and Nightlife Awards 2016 in two categories – Best Open Air Bar and Best Sunday Brunch (Fine Dining) at the award function held on 13th January 2016 in the city.

Speaking on the occasion, Gagan Deep Singh, General Manager – Courtyard by Marriott Pune City Centre shared that “We are extremely proud to bag two awards tonight for Evviva Sky Lounge. It’s a testament to the team’s hard work and also to the love that Puneites have showed us over the years. Nestled comfortably on the roof-top, amidst the tunes of the star-lit skyline of Pune, Evviva Sky Lounge at Courtyard by Marriott Pune City Centre has become one of the most sought after open air bars in Pune. Its Indian chef Akhilesh Pathak has won hearts of the city’s foodies with his simple and authentic style of cooking. An expert in Awadhi cuisine, Chef Pathak has learnt traditional Awadhi cooking style and recipes out of sheer passion over the years. He has won praise for his heartily prepared appetizers like Gosht Shikampuri Kebab and Afghani Jhinga Zarad Masala; main course dishes like Raan-e-Evviva and Laal Maas; and desserts like Luckhnowi Phirni and Kesaria Kheer.

Launched in October, the Sunday Brunch at Evviva Sky Lounge quickly became the talk of the town hosting brunch soirees for Pune’s socialites and foodies. Its highlight is an innovative mutli-cuisine brunch spread which features dishes like Smoked Salmon and Cucumber Rolls with Quail Eggs, Pani Puri Shots, Compressed Watermelon Salad to name a few. But the show-stealer is Evviva’s dessert trolley that brings to the guests’ table a vibrant assortment of Indian and global desserts like baklava, Fig marinated in Red Wine, Chickoo Firni and Poached Pear with Vanilla Ice-cream, among many others.

The Times Food & Nightlife Awards 2016 was attended by a host of Pune’s hoteliers and restaurateurs and coincided with the launch of the Times Food Guide 2016 edition authored by prominent food critic and writer Karen Anand by actor Shreyas Talpade. The awards covered 38 categories and were divided into two types –food and nightlife.
