Dr. Mukesh Batra Thrills the Hearts of Mumbaikars with a live concert ‘Yaadon Ki Bahaar 6’

Mumbai, January 13, 2016: Padma Shri recipient and Founder and Chairman of Dr Batra’s® Healthcare group, Dr. Mukesh Batra  enthralled the hearts of Mumbaikar’s today with a live performance at the 6th edition of ‘Yaadon Ki Bahaar’ – An annual musical concert that raises funds for the welfare of widows living at the Shepherd’s Widow Home. The musical event was staged at the Y B Chavan Auditorium with Bollywood’s most cherished actor, Rishi Kapoor, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Dr Batra’s has been associated with Shepherd’s Widow Home for over 30 years and provides free lifetime treatment to its residents. It was also heartening to see over 500 audience appreciate and applaud Dr Batra’s melodious rendition of Bollywood’s golden numbers from yesteryears. Blockbuster hits of Rishi Kapoor like Main Shayar To Nahi, Dard-e-Dil Dard-e- Jigar, Ek Hashina thi, Ek Main Aur Ek Tu, Humne Tumko Dekha and Parda Hai Parda set the mood for a great evening of entertainment for all.

 

Over the years, ‘Yaadon Ki Bahaar’ – an annual fund raising event has become a landmark in Mumbai’s cultural calendar and it cherishes remarkable support from various influencers from different walks of life. Over the years, eminent personalities such as Nandita Das, Pankaj Udas, Anu Malik, Vinod Khanna and Roop Kumar Rathod have shown their support to Dr. Mukesh Batra’s pet charity project.

 

Speaking on the fund raising event, Dr. Mukesh Batra said, “These women are remarkable and have gone through so much in life. It is now our duty to see that they do not spend their twilight years in isolation, pain and misery. This concert is not about the money that goes to them or the charity; it’s a tribute to their spirit. I respect people who do not lose their spirit even after all the miseries and sufferings in their life. I hope to continue lending this support to the Shepherds Widow Home for many years to come.”

 

Speaking at the event, Rishi Kapoor said, “It is inspiring to see a doctor devote so much time for a social cause. ‘Yaadon ki Bahaar’ is a great initiative by Dr Mukesh Batra that will help improve the quality of life of the windows at Shepherd’s Widow Home. I feel grateful to be a part of this event.”
